Dear Members and Friends of St. Joseph Church and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church

May the blessings of the Holy Spirit be with all of you as we move into summer and Ordinary Time. We are reminded through the celebration of Pentecost to continue to trust in God’s presence in our lives. We are called to give thanks for the Holy Spirit in and throughout our lives in the variety of graces and little wonders available each day.

Last year on the first weekend of June we began our new schedule of Mass. By now it appears that our parishioners have adapted well to the change. I see people from both parishes attending Mass according to which time seems best for them. Congratulations on adjusting well!

Gratitude for all the blessings we receive from God is the source of our generous response to the variety of needs we face. Consider how you may grow through sharing God’s love with the people in your life. There are family members, neighbors and strangers that look to people of faith for comfort and hope. Be the light of the world that is so threatened by darkness.

Congratulations to all our students who are graduating this year. Graduation is a milestone that is worthy of celebrating. May God bless the graduates in their future endeavors.

Saturday, June 3, Confessions will be heard at 3:30pm.

Thursday, June 15, from 11:00am-10:00pm, food purchased at El Jalapeno II restaurant will result in a 10% of your bill donation to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Flyers will be in the St. Joseph Bulletin the weekend of June 10-11. Flyers are available at IHM.

On a personal level, June 18 will be my 40th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood. What a wonderful life I have enjoyed! If you are interested in greeting me to mark the occasion, there will be a reception at St. Joseph Social Hall following the 4:30pm Mass on Saturday, June 17. On Sunday, June 18, Father’s Day, there will be a reception at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center following the 11:00am Mass. So that the folks who attend the 9:00 am Mass will not be left out, the Boy Scouts will be serving coffee and donuts after Mass in the Social Hall at St. Joseph.

Sunday, June 25, the Diocese of Youngstown will celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Diocese with a special Mass at 4:00pm at St. Columba Cathedral. All are welcome to participate.

Praying that you and all your loved ones are blessed throughout the summer months, I remain

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Rev. Gregory F. Fedor
