Dear Members and Friends of St. Joseph Church,

Merry Christmas! It is a pleasure to be writing this calendar letter in anticipation of the Feast of the Incarnation of Jesus. On December 25, the Church focuses especially on the newborn Child, God become human, who embodies for us all the hope and peace we seek. Some scholars insist that from the beginning of creation God intended to enter the world as one of us, the beloved people. Praise God! I hope that you enjoy the blessings of this season throughout the Christmas Season!

Dec 24: Christmas Eve Masses are 4:00 pm at St. Joseph and 5:30 pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Dec 25: The Masses for Christmas are 9:00 am at St. Joseph and 10:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary. Please note, there is no 4:30 pm Mass on Christmas Day.

Dec 26: The Masses for this Sunday, The Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph are 8:00 and 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary and 9:30 am at St. Joseph.

Dec 31: Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God will be at 4:00 pm at St. Joseph.

Jan 1: Because the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, falls on Saturday this year, it is not a Holy Day of Obligation. The Mass at 4:30 pm at St. Joseph is for the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord. There will be no confessions at St. Joseph or IHM on this day.

Jan 11: First Reconciliation at St. Joseph at 6:00 pm. This Penance Service is for the children who will celebrate First Communion on May 7.

Jan 20: The St. Joseph Finance Committee will meet at the Rectory at 6:30 pm.

As we eagerly await the coming of the new year, please continue to pray for those who are suffering in various ways. The pandemic has affected all of us. There are many who are grieving the loss of loved ones. Many people are facing social problems and the issues that come with isolation and separation from close contact with family and friends. Even through this difficult time, God is with us! God who has taken on our human frailty in the birth of Jesus knows our pains and sorrows. We are the people of salvation and good news!

In the upcoming year I trust that you will continue to offer helpful suggestions to address important concerns for our parish. Please continue your good works of caring for each other and proclaiming the Good News through the quality of your lives together.

Praying that God blesses you with all good things, I remain,

Sincerely yours in Christ,
