Dear Members and Friends of St. Joseph Church and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church

May the blessings of the Holy Spirit be with all of you as we move into summer and Ordinary Time. We are reminded through the celebration of Pentecost to continue to trust in God’s presence in our lives. We are called to give thanks for the Holy Spirit in and throughout our lives in the variety of graces and little wonders available each day.

Congratulations to all our students who are graduating this year. Graduation is a milestone that is worthy of celebrating. May God bless the graduates in their future endeavors.

I see people from both parishes attending Mass according to which time seems best for them. Congratulations on adjusting well! We will have another adjustment to the Mass schedule beginning September 1. The Sunday Mass at St. Joseph will begin at 8:30am to accommodate the CCD program.

IHM has leased the 2nd floor of the school building to Horizon Academy. Since this charter school will have exclusive use of the 2nd floor, we are merging the children’s religious education programs and the classes will be at St. Joseph.

Saturday, June 3, Confessions will be heard at 3:30pm.

Saturday, June 15, 9:00am-Noon, we will have AED training at St. Joseph. More information will follow in the bulletin. Members of both parishes are welcome to attend.

The Vacation Bible School will be held at St. Joseph from June 17-June 21. Members of both parishes are welcome to attend.

The IHM Bocce League begins play on Monday, June 24.

Some of you are aware that I have been struggling with health issues over the last six months. I am currently receiving dialysis 3 days per week. What this means for you is that I am not available for significant periods of time. In order to make up for my absence, Bishop Bonnar has appointed Msgr. Peter Polando as a Sacramental Minister to the parishes of Austintown. Msgr. Polando will occasionally have weekend Masses and weekday Masses. If anyone needs anointing or pastoral care on Monday, Wednesday or Friday afternoon, Msg. Polando will provide this service.

On a personal level, June 18 will be my 41st Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood. What a wonderful life I have enjoyed! Thank all of you for your prayers and support. Praying that you and all your loved ones are blessed throughout the summer months, I remain

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Rev. Gregory F. Fedor
