Dear Members and Friends of St. Joseph Parish,

May the blessings of the Holy Spirit be with all of you as we move into summer and Ordinary Time. I am happy to write this calendar letter even though it will not contain the usual list of activities for the month. We all know well the strangeness of the present time. We are reminded through our anxiety and worry to continue to trust in God’s presence in our lives. Each of us ought to continue a rigorous and vigorous daily prayer routine. As we will celebrate Pentecost the weekend of June4-5, we are reminded of the presence of the Holy Spirit in and throughout our lives in the variety of graces and little wonders available each day.

This is an important reminder that our weekend Mass schedule will change the first weekend of June. The new schedule will be the following: Saturday, Mass at 4:30 pm at St. Joseph, Sunday, Mass will be at 9:00 am at St. Joseph and at 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary.

As members of the Body of Christ, each of us is called to offer our time, talent and treasure. Gratitude for all the blessings we receive from God is the source of our generous response to the variety of needs we face. Consider how you may grow through sharing God’s love with the people in your life. There are family members, neighbors and strangers that look to people of faith for comfort and hope. Be the light of the world that is so threatened by darkness.

One of the ways that you are people of the Light is through your generosity. Here at St. Joseph through our second collection for the people of Ukraine we raised over $8,000.00. At IHM, the Knights of Columbus had a special fund-raising event for the people of Ukraine and raised over $35,000.00! These are incredible signs of your love of God and willingness to share your blessings with others.

Congratulations to all our students who are graduating this year. Graduation is a milestone that is worthy of celebrating. May God bless the graduates in their future endeavors.

On a personal level, June 18 will be my 38th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood. What a wonderful life I have enjoyed!

Praying that you and all your loved ones are blessed throughout the summer months, I remain

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Very Rev. Gregory F. Fedor, V.F.
