2019 Parish Retreat
Called to be Neighbors: Renewing Our Commitment to Austintown
April 28-29, 6:00 – 8:00 pm (Includes Simple Supper)
Presenter: Peggy Hahn
Peggy, an award-winning church ministry leader, comes to us from Houston, Texas and is the Founder and Executive Director of L.E.A.D. (Living Everyday As Disciples). Peggy, a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)* offers keynotes, retreats, and workshops around the country on church development and spiritual practices. She works with volunteers, pastors, and bishops on church leadership development and parish transformation. Her experience includes coordinating a service project for 36,000 people during the 2009 and 2012 ELCA Youth Gatherings in New Orleans. She’s also a Hurricane Harvey survivor.
Peggy will help us explore the power of caring for our neighbors as a way to respond to God’s call to revitalize our parish. We will focus on simple ways to reach out and connect with our neighbors as individuals and as a parish community. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to beautify your neighborhood with caring actions and to make Austintown a more wonderful place for all of us.
Prepare for the Retreat
Peggy’s focus will be on empowering us to be more caring to our neighbors. Part of caring for your neighbors is loving your neighborhood. In this video, Melody Warnick shares her wisdom about falling in love with where you live. Take a look. It’s a great way to prepare for our retreat.
