Dear Members and Friends of St. Joseph Parish,
Happy Easter! I greet you this way as a reminder that we are called to celebrate the joy of the Resurrection throughout the Fifty Day Season of Easter. We will continue our focus on the gifts the resurrection of Jesus brings at Easter until Pentecost Sunday, June 5, 2022.
By accepting God’s blessings with gratitude, we are called to act as brothers and sisters in the Lord. As disciples of Christ, we are called to be faithful stewards of all that is entrusted to us. As members of the Body of Christ, we are to be reliable overseers of the rich variety of gifts we have received. Throughout the Easter Season and the entire year, we are called to share our gifts and live out our baptismal calling.
I am impressed with how you have maintained your financial support of St, Joseph Church. You are continuing to be generous with your parish and other charitable institutions. The St Vincent de Paul Society is maintaining its mission to help those in need of food and other items. For those of you who made a commitment to the Annual Bishop’s Appeal I see on the monthly report that you are meeting your pledges. I also want to note that our parish raised over $8,000.00 to help the people of Ukraine! Thanks to all of you!
On Tuesday, May 3, we will celebrate Confirmation with our youth and the members of Immaculate Heart of Mary at 7:00pm Mass. Bishop Bonnar will preside and Confirm the Candidates at IHM.
Saturday, May 7, we will celebrate First Holy Communion with our youngsters at the 4:30pm Mass. This is an exciting day for the Candidates and their families. It also is a great reminder for all of us who receive Communion at Mass of how Christ is present in our lives.
Sunday, May 8, is Mother’s Day. Please visit, call or send your mother a card to honor her.
I look forward to the day when I use this calendar letter to highlight parish social activities again! Praying that God keeps you and your loved ones healthy and safe, I remain,
