Part 1: Sundays, 10:30-10:45 am – For the Whole Family
Part 2: Sundays, 10:45-11:45 – For All Adult Parishioners
Research shows consistently that parents are the most influential factor for the faith development of children and teenagers. When parents and children learn about and explore their faith together, both benefit in a multitude of ways. Not only do they learn about faith, they also grow closer to each other, and there are social, physical, psychological, and cognitive benefits too.
Growing Families is a way to include parents in the faith formation of their children throughout the CCD year.
Catholics also profess that adult faith formation is the central expression of all Catholic educations. The United States Bishops, in their document on adult faith formation, have lamented that parishes spend far too many of their resources on children and youth compared to what they devote to adult formation. Growing Families provides an adult faith formation option for parents and any other adults in the parish who want to participate. Join the parents after they dismiss their children to CCD for a 1-hour adult faith formation program.
