Dear Members and Friends of St. Blaise Parish,
May God bless you warmly as we move through the months ahead. God is always with us and sustains us through all the difficulties we face.
February is the shortest month but there are many activities for us to anticipate.
February 1 there will be confessions at St. Joseph at 3:30 pm.
Sunday, February 2, the Knights of Columbus will have a Pancake Breakfast at IHM. CCD will be held at IHM Church from 9:30am-10:45am.
Sunday, February 9, CCD will hold a Super Bowl Party after 8:30am Mass
Saturday, February 15, there will be a Polka Mass at St. Joseph beginning at 4:30pm. There will be more information about our celebration of Sts. Cyril and Methodius to come.
There is no CCD on Sunday, February 16 due to Presidents’ Day Weekend.
Saturday, February 22, the Men’s Mile Marker Event will begin at 8:00 am at St. Joseph. We will have participants from a few parishes. Please pray for a successful event.
Sunday, February 23, there will be a “4 Hands” Piano Concert at St. Joseph Church at 1:00pm.
The Members of Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Joseph have responded very generously to our Sunday Stewardship Program. Thank all of you very much. After January 1, we have become St. Blaise Parish. Our efforts will mean that our income must cover the expenses of both campuses. The Finance Committee and I are confident that we will be able to continue to maintain and develop our facilities.
The next major purchase we face is a new keyboard and speakers for IHM Church. The instruments we currently have are on their last legs. The new Keyboard and speakers will cost approximately $20,000.00. If you are interested in contributing toward the purchase, please make your check out to IHM. If you want to make your gift in memory of a loved one, please include their name(s) when you send the check to the rectory at IHM.
Looking ahead to March, Ash Wednesday will be March 5. Mass will be at 9:00am at IHM and at 6:00pm at St. Joseph. The of the Word and Distribution of Ashes (No Communion) will be at Noon at both Churches.
